Born in New York City but raised in Haiti before settling in Canada at six, Jonathan David’s ultimate destination was Europe and the UEFA Champions League. Having been influenced by the likes of Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba, David, still only 22 years old, helped Lille to their first French title in a decade - and just their fourth title in the club’s history.
