Navilens has been named the first winner of Atleti Lab Open Connect powered by Telefónica, a global open innovation competition aimed at identifying innovative solutions in the fields of sustainability, accessibility and inclusion. The event took place at LaCabina, Telefónica’s technology hub. The three finalist companies – Navilens, Asteroid Technologies and Cute Circuit – took part after being selected from more than 100 applications submitted from around the world. Each company delivered a pitch to present its project before a jury made up of directors from Atlético de Madrid and our partner. Navilens’ intelligent signage solution was chosen as the winner. The technology enables people to instantly access information about their surroundings using a mobile phone. High-density codes are placed on physical spaces or products where information is to be provided. Thanks to the technology behind these codes, they can be easily scanned with a mobile device from long distances and without the need to focus directly on them. This disruptive solution offers significant benefits for the general public, but particularly for people with visual impairments. Our club will contribute €10,000 to help bring the Navilens proposal to life during the upcoming season. René Abril, our Director of Technology and Digital Development, reflected on the first edition of Atleti Lab Open Connect: “We are closing the first edition of Atleti Lab Open Connect delighted by the incredible talent shown by all the participating companies. Applications were received from every corner of the world, and the outstanding quality of the proposals made it extremely difficult to select a winner. I would like to thank Telefónica, the club’s technology partner, for its support of this initiative in the areas of sustainability, inclusion and accessibility.” Leonor Ostos, Director of Product and Service Development at Telefónica España, added: “At Telefónica, we have embraced the undeniable challenge of becoming the best gateway for citizens to access
