I made it through an episode and a half. Dark, confusing, disjointed, it's about Charles Manson and cops in 1967. Manson looks nothing like the real Manson. He's not short enough, his eyes are not wild at all. He has no charisma about him, he seems like an actor playing Charles Manson. The girls in his harem worship him for no apparent reason. He slaps them around, gets them pregnant, has no visible means of support. He doesn't seem very bright, but they sure adore him. Way too much gruesome violence, and I mean the really gruesome kind. And we're treated to two grown men making out on a couch in the opening scene. In 1967? That's supposed to set the mood for the era? The only way to tell it's not the present is from the phones. And at the end there's a 55 Cadillac at a motel. David Duchovny is very dark as a cop. No humor whatsoever. No kidding around, no clever sarcasm. Just a cop with a flat top haircut. I didn't like a single person in the show, I won't be watching any more episodes.
