Really different type of show. Hits the nail on the head. 2 easy going 20 minute stand up shows in Rays home town. Can't get much better than that. Both excellent little shows.
I really liked the understated nature of this special. I like the feel of club special vs. big arenas. Romano has a charisma about him as well, he's very likable. However I thought the material was blah. Most of the jokes were very traditional - "women are like this and men are like that." It was stale and got boring pretty quickly unfortunately.
How sharp and honed was his first set - he had me from the get-go and the comedy was relaxed, endearing and beautifully paced and delivered and above all FUNNY. The second set fell apart as he fell into the same kind of 'growing old anatomical shtick' I HAVE heard before and will doubtless here again. He had ONE priceless new joke and insight that was delicious. That he had a blow to the testicles 35 years ago and remembers how it hurt and had one recently and it didn't hurt nearly as much because... his testicles don't CARE as much. Full stop. Funny... but no he goes on and on about 'hanging low' and etc. which I have heard done for thirty years before by others. Love him when he is great - he's untouchable.
So refreshing to have a healthy laugh without much of a fuss. The walk and the get-together at the end was the cherry on top! Netflix requires many more of these.
The best comedy special that I have watched in a very long time. Must watch.
I thought this would at least an 8 out of 10. It was joyful and I laughed out loud quite a bit. I like the 2nd part better than the 1st.
It's good to see Romano back after so long, and with pretty good, honest content! Hope to see more of him soon
