I don't know if there is something lost in translation or if it's a cultural thing, but this Polish romantic comedy seems a bit juvenile. Monika and Enzo have managed to milk this romance into three films and this is the third and (hopefully) final film (aka the wedding). I am actually happy that I persisted in watching all three films as this may be the best of the three. It is definitely better than number two and doesn't have all the terrible disguises of the first film. Enzo finally proposes to Monika and she becomes the director of her school. While trying to secure the church for their wedding, Enzo is given a task by the minister (priest? I am not really sure what they are called in the Orthodox Church). This task has him and his niece looking for a woman from his past named Ewa...who (surprise!) has a son who might be Enzo's. This introduces a really weird portion of the plot where this terrible "bohemian artist" insinuates herself into their home and lives...drinking like a fish and generally being irresponsible. The biggest topic however is Enzo's desire to be a dad and Monika not being ready to be a mom...a problem they don't really resolve but get married anyway?!?!? This was a bit of a problem for me. Because sadly "love" doesn't fix everything no matter how much we want it to. Also...side note, are there a lot of irresponsible bohemian artist women who drink like fish and are promiscuous in Poland? I have only seen a couple Polish productions and it seems like a common stereotype. This series is not a recommendation from me, but if you watch any of the other films in the series you should be sure to watch this one. My favorite part, sadly, happens right in the beginning when Enzo's marriage proposals are foiled. This review is based on watching the film in it's original Polish language with English subtitles.
