The Tangle was not what I imagined it to be going in. I really enjoyed the lyrical poem element to the film. The writing had twist and turns and for the budget... Oh my, insane what they were able to do. I would recommend this movie especially if you want to something different that you have no seen before. A solid movie.

I don't really know where to start with this review. Not a lot actually happened. This was a slow burning, sci-fi, murder mystery. For a low budget movie with so few cast members, the writer and production crew did a remarkable job of keeping it interesting and very watchable. Samuel T. Coleridge's poem, "Kubla Khan," plays a prominent part of the script. It puts the idea of a utopian society in our minds which is good, because the image in our minds is all that we are going to see of that society. If you are hoping for flying cars, spaceships, fancy mechanical devices and user interfaces, and lean white skyscrapers made of glass and neon lights, pick another movie. The script was almost poetic with the choice of language and wording. The descriptive tones were also very well chosen. Another thing that was well done, was the character of the killer. This individual left you feeling that they need to be punished for their crime whilst simultaneously understanding and even sympathising with their reasoning. I can see this movie being one of the best of the year if you take its budget into account and well worth watching.

I'll start by saying I love thought-provoking intelligent sci-fi. However this is not that. It is only dressed up as that. It's pretentious, cheap and boring. I honestly can't think of anything positive to say about this film other than the noir detective element is nice. Everything else was a waste of my time.

Reading the IMDB description got me excited to watch this movie. But that was to be the the most exciting thing about it. The viewer is invited to imagine the purported future through long boring self indulgent soliloquys, and that is about the extent of it. There are very few scenes which take place outside one room. Do not expect any high octane action thrills and stunts or green screen special effects. The movie is stilted and turgid and brings a whole new meaning to tedium. If you fall asleep rest assured your time will have been better spent.

Well this was a disappointment. I was expecting a good movie, the story seemed interesting, and to be honest it had a lot of potential, but the execution was really poor. I don't know what writer/director Christopher Soren Kelly was thinking whilst making this movie but it was for sure not going to be pleasant to watch for a lot of people. The dialogues are highly irritating, most of the time it's just gibberish, a language nobody "normal" speaks. I think he wanted to come over as fancy and innovative and it boomeranged right in his face. Because the plot was promising, I'm sure you could make a good sci-fi movie with that story, but it's just not The Tangle. The cast was also not very convincing in their roles. Again I'm sure they could do much better, but now it looked like they rehearsed their lines without understanding anything they're talking about. The moments of poetry were also very annoying to watch. The cinematography wasn't that great either. I'm searching to write anything good about this movie but beside a promising story I can't see anything. Don't waste your time with this one.

Wasnt sure what to expect going in to this, from the reviews it seems it is one of those films that you either love or hate, as it is, I quite enjoyed it. Very small cast with most of the film taking place in one room but think it was a well told story with some good performances.

This movie is perfectly complex. It grabs your interest from the start. The cinematography is beautiful. Small threads of what is going are given to you so you "think" you know the ending, but you do not. Very original idea, which is fresh it this day and age of "Hollywood remakes and lack of ideas". See this move, but watch it more than once. The are a TON of hints throughout that you may or may not see the first time through.

This movie does with dialog what other sci-fi movies try (and mostly fail) to do with CGI. Of all the post singularity movies this is the most successful in fleshing out a believable world and then telling a story within that universe. Don't watch when you are tired as this will grab your full attention.
