I don't know why this has gotten such a very low rating. This is such a great movie! If you're expecting it to be like all the other superhero movie you might get disappointed. The character is really well played and the movie itself and you would come to really root for him. I'm glad I found this hidden gem. This has kept me entertained from beginning to end. Give it a chance.
This film is a really below average . Absolutely predictable storyline and performances too did not reach to create any empathy with the characters. Everything just happened very randomly . Although the genere is Fantasy / super hero but some sense and direction is still required to steer a point home . This movie totally lacks it . Watch at your own risk.
Storyline is very rich. Mix of fantasy, action, romance, comedy. The cast are also the highlight. Taiwan most famous teen idols and hk popular actor. I can see there are lots of elements in one movie but I don't feel it's not appropriate at all. Even a lot of idea come from many classic movies, but just don't feel a copycat at all. Probably the most entertaining Taiwan movie recently.
Weird but very good humor, lots of fun and action. It deserves a much higher rating than it has right now. I laughed almost at every minute of it...
I had the opportunity to sit down and watch the 2020 Taiwanese movie "Da pen ti" (aka "A Choo") here in 2021, and I hadn't even heard about the movie before I sat down to watch it. But it being an Asian movie was more than enough to make me sit down to watch it. But "A Choo" was a movie that fell a bit short of entertaining me. Now, don't get me wrong here, because I am not saying that it is a bad movie. But writer Giddens Ko just didn't manage to produce a script and storyline that had much of any particular appeal on me. Sure, the movie is watchable, but this was by no means a grand moment in Taiwanese cinema. They did have some interesting actors and actresses on the cast list, most of which I was not familiar with, so that was something that was good - as that is something I enjoy. I was initially thrilled to see Louis Koo on the cast list, but he just didn't manage to lift up this movie. Visually then "A Choo" is rather great, lots of good effects and the movie is crammed with some action scenes as well, which help to sell the movie, I suppose. Ultimately then "A Choo" just wasn't my cup of tea, and as such I am rating it a less than mediocre four out of ten stars.
Rating would be higher but cgi wasn't the best, worth a slot on your weekend movie night, there will be funny and serious parts through out but that ending is a little tear jerker.
To be honest, I'm with Chanaka. I don't get the low ratings on this movie. Sure it wasn't THE BEST movie. But for what it was, it's pretty damn solid. If you go into the movie expecting AAA acting, AAA CGI scenes and choreographed fights, then you will be disappointed. Up until you ending scene I had intense Kung Fu Hustle vibes with the training scenes and the interactions between the MC's. The ending, while sad, felt a bit rushed as well. At times you knew what was coming, and at times you were surprised with either one thing or another. I definitely felt that I got my monies worth out of watching this film, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I just wish it ended SLIGHTLY different with more of a action sequence instead of a snippet of One Punch Man. I also expected some kind of epilogue after the way it just fades to black for some reason,... but it's still a good watch.
I don't know about the low rating, but this was a very heartwarming, funny and simple movie. Sure the CGI could be better, but there is something about the storyline that just captured me from the start. It's not a cheesy romantic film, and I'm sure if you watch it you'll adore it.
