I'm a classic rom com lover and I loved this film. It was a bit like a modern 500 days of summer, not a classic rom com. Really enjoyed it!
One of the smartest back and forth dialogue driven films I have seen in years. Witty and humorous and shot beautifully to cap it. Great acting and a crisp script. Highly recommend this unique quirky flick.
I think a line from the movie sums it up pretty well.... "A bus ride in rush-hour to mediocrity." Plus I hate when movies have such an unsatisfactory ending.
This is not a romantic comedy. It is definitely not romantic, ( the male lead looks 16) and is mismatched with a more mature woman with whom there is ZERO chemistry. Every scene together, he looks like he is in torture, and possibly on his first date. The love scenes, if you can call them that, more uncomfortable fumbling, are few and far between , and difficult to watch. As for the comedy part of Romantic Comedy, there is NOTHING funny in this movie. Then they throw in a gay best friend who has been lusting after the lead forever and after a night spent together, we are left to wonder if they had sex or not. The plot is completely laid out in the movie description and that's the movie, except that the characters are thoroughly unlikeable, it's not Romantic, or a comedy, and it is poorly cast and acted. I believe the eight glowing reviews came from the families of the cast.
All about who you know Is a funny unique rom-com. Along with the great music, the acting really brought this story to life. I loved it!
I'm not a huge romcom fan, but this one was unexpected (and as the metacommentary points out), it's refreshing when the characters aren't necessarily likable. So, I did enjoy this (and, I assume like the rest of the reviewers, reviewed it today, because it was released in the middle of the night on iTunes and wasn't available before then).
I watched it for 20 min or so and gave up. So boring and uninteresting. Maybe it got better but I don't have patience to wait and see and waste my time.
I saw this movie and absolutely fell in love with it. The characters. The dialogue. The scenery. Every detail of the movie took me on a roller coaster of emotion. The two main characters were believable and quite loveable....... in their own way. The Joni Mitchell song (THE CIRCLE GAME) that was played throughout the film perfectly summed up the inner thoughts of the characters. Almost like the song was written for this movie. The final scene still makes me emotional. The screenplay was witty, quirky and clever. The director obviously wanted his actors to portray the characters in a certain way, and it was spot on. I urge everyone to see this movie.!
