This movie had a great ending and a couple good scenes in the middle. Its flirtation with social commentary was hit-and-miss. If you think about it really hard, the treatment of altered states of consciousness was probably irresponsible. But it is more of a genre movie than a serious drama. If you liked the middle seasons of "Lost," it is probably for you.
Don't waste your time, another Aussie film with a terrible story with a weak script. Concept could have been pushed further but was wasted. Actors are weak to mediocre, no stand outs. photography looks like film students. Overall well done, its hard making a film but maybe next time study great films to understand story structure and what makes interesting characters and more importantly what is great acting.
Convinced they couldn't think up a title till somebody remembered the stepping on broken glass in bare feet scene (ring any bells?) The central idea of the plot in Fragmentary, however is an intriguing one. But the notion that the hero has to get inebriated as a newt to move between parallel worlds is just, plain weird. Wasn't it, incidentally Bran Stark (of Game of Thrones) that invented "warging"? Just a pity that the lead character in this one really did have the charisma of an amphibian.
A mix of Dark and Once Upon a Time that definitely didn't work. I finished the movie with a desire to get in the face of the writers.
Basically, this movie has good idea, and that's about it. Acting is bad, effects are bad, sound/music is bad, and even the story is bad. There are few pretty obvious mistakes as well - for example, blue race of people from different reality should be all blue right? Well at few scenes you can clearly see human skin color when clothes lift up. I wouldn't recomend this movie, but would love to see the same idea, done better
An interesting story, and something different from the garbage/sequels Hollywood pumps out. It comes across like a good episode of The X-Files or The Twilight zone. Can't really say too much more without spoiling it.
This film by Jace Pikard, done at locations around Sydney, Australia. Yes, there some originality with the story. Science, fantasy, timewarping, etc. depending how much alcohol is consumed. As far as the acting, it's moderately done with some decent make-up effects of the different species in alternate realities. Although the film describes the creatures as another race but it should be probably "species" . As independent fantastic cinema, Fragmentary is a good stepping stone for other reality-jumping films.
Slow at first. Spends the first 30 minutes getting to know the characters and then picks up speed real quick. Loved it! The themes in this film felt quite real and left open for a potential sequel.
Nothing but ridiculous plot, bad acting, a terrible script and completely boring. I should have passed. You're welcome.
A great and Original film and one of the most unique story ideas. A shining light of creativity and original thinking in a world of remakes , gems like this film shine. It is a great mix of romance, thriller and drama and a good dose of laughs.Great twists and engaging from start to finish. one of the most unique films i've had the pleasure of watching. The cast were perfect and the story was suspensful from start to finish engaging the viewers in A superbly crafted film.
