Some of the ideas are pretty entertaining. Some of them even original. The storytelling is consistently good. However, each storyline ends without being entirely satisfying. They just end; they lack a meaningful conclusion.
Disjoint bunch of nonsensical stories, barely intertwined. No real beginning, no end. Absolutely pointless waste of time. Ended up fast forwarding to get to the end, which was also garbage. There was zero point to this film. None. Whatever they think they tried to get across, they failed miserably. Seriously pass on this. You can thank me later.
Its very easy to produce a 10 mins short firm nowadays , many individuals can do that , on the other hand , make a 2 hour movie seems pretty darn difficult , it takes billions of money . So it came to pass that there are movies try to glue shorts to get a standard movie . Nice try I must say . But the connection is week between those shorts , it would be better if more scenes about that.
No, really. WTH!? What was the point. Usually when watching crappy semi-anthology pieces meshed up together in one movie like this, there is a pay off in the end. This one, nada!!! Like seriously, NOTHING!!! The only segment the felt like it was going somewhere was the one with Garance Marillier . But then it fell flat. And don't even get me started with the one with the chick from Big Sky (2020) and Legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Patrick Schwarzenegger . What happened between them before all that VR segment? And what was that one segment with one of our best Sherlock Holmes after Jeremy Brett, actor Rupert Everett about? What a wasted potential there. And that segment with Alice Eve ? Anyways, I could go on and on about it; this would have worked best as a limited mini series; each episode covering one of the segments and even then, it would at the very least be near the level of mediocracy of American Horror Stories (2021) Don't waste your time on this. 100% agree with the review from user contactmaz. 1 star just for the visual effect, which were surprisingly good and 1 star for the acting also, which was not bad at all.
Okay, so the stories didn't all come together in the end. In my opinion, it's not meant to be an actual depiction of OUR world but a dystopian possibility. A world where some technologies advanced while others didn't, where there's even more of a focus on escape from reality than we already have. I loved this film, regardless of the fact that not every story got tied up as well as it could have. Definitely a film that makes ya go "hmmm"... but I like that sort of thing.
It feels like a mashup of Black Mirror episodes stitched into a movie. From what i can tell, this is a feature length debut for the director. She has done a commendable job. Whilst not ground breaking, it was definitely enjoyable. It has some genuinely strange & disturbing parts. It did move me to think much the same way Black Mirror did.
