Didn't they pay Steven Seagal for this film? What was he doing there? Wasted 1.30 hours for this trash.
To immi it's great I remember all is flims from the 80s 90s 2000s good fighter I remember is first flim nico and under siege go and watch it forget the negative people who criticize you always get people whingeing
I am generally a positive person. And I know this will piss off the Seagal purists. But at least I own my opinion. I should start by saying this in is in "NO WAY" a retalliation for those infamous hateful interviews Mr. Steven Seagal gave concerning fellow action stars, especially Jean Claude Van Damme. I just find a majority (Maybe all) of Mr. Seagals movies very two dimensional, unexciting and unbelievable. And yes, that would be the bad version of unbelievable. Mr. Seagal just doesn't know how to act. My interpretation to make a decent movie... to have your audience believe in you, your charcter has to have some depth. Would I be wrong in suggesting Mr. Seagal's whispering tough guy may know how to kick some Aikido ass but simply fails to deliver on the silver screen. I don't care if he turns up on my doorstep tomorrow waving his slappy hands around. I wont be sitting through another epic length tirade of raspy monotones. I really don't think he's delivered since Nico, Above the law. And I will say happily, "I enjoyed that movie". Character vs. Character... Eg. Seagal vs Van Damme... At least Van Damme has some semblance of afore mentioned character depth. I mean, all being said, these flicks are all about kicking ass, right? And if there was any other slight on Mr. Seagals version of talent, "doesn't EVERY action star who is worth anything cinematically end up in an Expendables film"? And after three of those extremely enjoyable kickass pictures, I don't recall seeing his name in any of the credits. Oh yeah, So this is meant to be about this movie specifically, yes? You saw the last one didn't you? Again, if he's knocking on my door tomorrow, I feel safe as I have a "no salesman" sticker on it REMEMBER, this is my opinion! I wont be chasing down Mr. Seagals autograph anytime soon.
The line from Detective Munce just about sums it up: "Gremlins... it's a f$@!ing film. Watch it, it's a classic!" So true, a classic. Unlike this film.
I love a train wreck and like all Segal's movies? It's one massive train wreck of biblical proportion. His days of making an actual movie that won't make you vomit in laughter is over... Like his gut hanging over his belt. Watch this movie if you need a good laugh... Like watching Reefer Madness. Then again you have to be really high to even watch this for 15 minutes
This is the kind of flick you just have a lot of fun watching! Well made, cool, cool cool!
Great movie with a Run All Night feel to it.... Steven Seagal continues to bless us with great content .... Dope soundtrack too
I quite enjoyed this new little cheap crime Thriller starring Steven Seagal, DMX & Johnny Messner. This low-budget B-movie Crime Thriller was actually shot really well & didn't look too cheap like alot of these films do look. It's a gritty & violent movie with a dark mood & the most deep & gravelly voiced actors in one movie I've ever seen. Ex-action legend, Steven Seagal is more a background character here as he plays a high-up mob boss with a son who is a deranged killer who listens to no one & kills a boy in cold blood, that brings the boys tough father out to their city to find who did it & seek revenge. The gravelly voiced & very rugged, Johnny Messner (Anacondas: Hunt For The Blood Orchid) is the boys tough father, Frank Wilson, an ex-cop with a sordid past but a deadly man & is now on the hunt for his son's killer. Ex-Rapper turned B-movie actor, DMX stars as a corrupt cop called Munce, he's a dirty cop & someone Frank used to know on the force. DMX starred in the early 2000's Awesome "Exit Wounds" with Steven Seagal & he was quite a good action star then but now he's aged & seems abit lost but it's a nothing role really anyway. Now like i said Steven Seagal isn't a main lead here but when he's on screen he speaks alot of truth & comes across wise & very tough, i really liked his performance here as he had to speak more & actually act!!! He does one small action scene near the end & that's it. Some solid Action & a very gritty vibe make "Beyond The Law" a decent straight to dvd flick, it's basically a revenge Thriller in the style that "Charles Bronson" probably would've made back in the day.
