Lancaster is nice
source: Lancaster Skies
Enjoyed this film very much ,very emotional as my grandfather never came home with bomber command ,I can see what it was like for all those extremely brave men . Can't believe it was on such a small budget...well done .
Saw this on 27/2 in Nottingham. Really enjoyed it. It was even more amazing when you consider the budget involved. It really made me wonder how these crews coped with the stress and dealt with the thought that they only had a roughly 50:50 chance of returning each time. Recommended.
Took a punt on Sky. Script was a bit hit and miss, can't argue, but I read this film was made for 80 thousand pounds so I'm giving leeway. Was hoping for more plane and war, to be honest. However, despite the poster mis sell I did find it fairly engrossing. 2 lead characters were good and the rest of the cast played there parts well. Undeserving of some of the criticism if you ask me, but I do understand the misgivings. At least it's not a studio remake - and well done for getting it done and being brave enough to focus on the people.
Really enjoyed this film, it was very cleverly and beautifully done. Purely by chance I happened to be sitting next to a couple of extras from the film but I kept forgetting to look for them as I was lost in the story. Yes it was lacking in the high action scenes you usually expect with war films but this was a good thing as you got to focus on the characters and the emotion of their stories. It took pure determination to make this film and it has resulted in a wonderful piece of cinema.
What an amazing tribute for those selfless young men who risked their lives for us. The film was flawless and the attention to detail impeccable. To find out it was done for so little cost and how the local community helped out is testament to the makers. The storyline had me hooked from the start with all the twists in it.
I wasn't fully sure what to expect but having followed the production of this film from early on I was excited to see what they achieved. I was very glad that I went, this is a great film that has interesting charecters, highs, lows and laughs. Th pierod element looks legit and the 'inside the Lancaster Bomber' was facinating and they pulled it off great.
I really don't know what the whole point was. Convoluted story line and a bevy of bad actors. Not worth seeing at any price, And what's with the "no ending" ending ? UGH.
Brilliant and moving film focusing in on the men of Bomber Command, with some brilliant shots of some classic and amazing Second World War aircraft. Yes it's in a budget, and in my opinion we fail nationally to honour these men as we should. But I left proud and tearful of the amazing and brave job they did. Well done to all involved for bringing their story to the big screen
