Predictable storyline..fall in love, elope, fight, get back to routine, miss each other ,fall in love again..only this time for sure !. The script is so weak that you think the lead characters have no brains whatsoever. Questions like , "why would they elope without thinking about the future ,Why is the hero missing home within a few hours wanting to go back" pop up in the viewers mind. The actress has a VERY long way to go ...definitely not a heroine material ! All the supporting characters do well ..but since the script & the direction is so weak , any amount of acting doesn't show up well on the screen.
Such a Great love and romance movie. Obsessed with the songs of this movie and it gives much feelings and good storyline except some attitude roles of both the characters. Everyone can enjoy this movie with family and also with friends. The storyline is about the love and friendship between a Hindu Brahmin boy and a Christian girl. Both of their parents were friends and first they are not ready with their proposal and then later they change their disision and allow them to become life partners. Dulquer Salman shows his good acting talent and he plays a role of a Tamil Brahmin who leaves in Kerala.
Let's get over the fact that Dulquer Salmaan did do this seemingly feeble project after his parade of hitmakers. He may have enjoyed playing it right with an actress who has a hot bod, brilliant cast & an adventurous story-line. In fact, the maker have taken the title a bit too seriously. But the audience, I observed, weren't that keen for the kites flying high without control. The kites in question are the lead players: Dulquer does his part really well & this gives me an impression that he can pull off any role. The newcomer is nice, played little jittery, and to be fact doesn't sport a face for being an actress. Mind you! Supporting cast is good. Coming to the story, the new gen couple try to elope & terribly fail. Then there is ego & "never-seeing-you-again" stages, jealousy-creation tactics, etc.. Finally they end up in a company together & you know the flow. Their families, of course of different religions, during these stages, try hard to do what they ought to do. Humor is present largely. But romance is given a bright point. With a climax so predictable, Pattom Pole is a cute watch for couples. Not that families cannot grab a seat, but it would be better if they wait for rentals. Songs are good, cinematography & direction is good. As a whole, I could dub it a feel-good movie. BOTTOM LINE: A good attempt with something new, though it goes extra- off-beat to enhance the experience and ends up being a commoner. Recommended for lovebirds. Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES Profanity/Vulgarity/Sex/Mouth-Kiss: No | Alcohol/Smoking: No | Violence/Gore: No
