This was just a mindless way to while a few hours away. The story involved political intrigue during a medical emergency but unfortunately very little was explained in a rational way. I had no idea that the resistance group existed until near the end and what their genesis was and their aims were. The Norwegian Prime Minister was always going to be on a loser by requesting outside help. Norway was just about the best country in the world for a plague to burn itself out, having erected such effective barriers against everywhere and everyone. So I can't say I recommend this as it's all nonsense really but I wouldn't stop anyone else from watching.
The story is very poorly written, and the main characters are so unlikable, naive, and impulsive that I kept hoping they would die of the plague so I wouldn't have to listen to them anymore. In general, the main characters are selfish, self-centered, and entitled. Besides the landscape, there is no accurate portrayal of Norwegian society and lifestyle. It seems that the writer has no idea how life and culture work in Norway, not even in a hypothetical dystopia like in this series. The portrayal feels superficial and disconnected, failing to capture the complexities or nuances of what Norwegian society might realistically evolve into under such extreme circumstances. This lack of depth and cultural accuracy only exacerbates the frustration with the series, making the setting feel inauthentic and the narrative even less engaging.
So much resting on finding a cure or stopping the spread of virus, and yet everyone does their best to confuse matters. The good guys are stopped continually and the idiot pm takes u til the last episode to realise there's a conspiracy. I hoped that a Russell took the part because he wanted a holiday in Norway but it probably wasn't filmed there. There's too many subplots that don't go anywhere, and most of the characters are unlikeable so at times you wish some would get the plague. Overall it was a good idea and following on from coronavirus there would be an audience but I feel they tried to include too much, with crazed characters trying for power and no one listening to the scientists. Remember in Jaws when they wanted to close the beach, this idea runs throughout the series. Find the new Backstrom instead.
