I know the animation leaves something to be desired. It will never really equate to the magical animation of the first three films. But, this film is honestly better than the star ratings give it credit for. Uberta has finally gotten her moment to shine, and we get to see the grief she and William went through in losing their spouses. We get to see their friendship, and how they aid one another through the sorrow. It is truly such an amazing story to tell. To see come to life. I know I for one had always hoped to see more behind the scenes. We got it, and they gave us pure, raw emotion. Absolutely breathtaking in the story telling, and almost flawless in the execution. Even the comedy held very close to the original comedy we saw in the first three films. It was just altogether a different kind of love story, and a story of true unadulterated friendship. And quite funny. The flashbacks to the first film made me tear up. We got to see that glimpse of the original story and animation. We got Uberta's story. She waited 30 years for her applause, and I think this movie has earned her that applause. I hate that this left off at a cliff hanger, but I will be here for the second and third parts (as has been announced that this is the first film in the closing trilogy). And what a perfect fit. It started with a trilogy, and so it shall end with one. All I can say is, Derek's father is alive, and I look forward to seeing the reunion. I know the other movies before this leave much to be desired, but I think this movie was amazing. And I can't wait for the next two.
