The set seems to lack any of the edgy hard hitting humor that Cross has displayed in the past. Especially after the witty no punches pulled style he showed on his previous special; Oh, come on fell far short of expectation. Cross resorts to hacky played out jokes for the first half of the special. Appearing to resort to his normal political commentary in the second half, he comes across as more inflammatory than anything fresh or insightful
David has a cute kid and a cool wife now (Amber Tamblyn). He's funny and honest about his life right now, avoiding the typical comedy cliches. But the real gold in this set comes toward the end when David taps into a collective fantasy of many Americans. Enjoy!
This is a good clean respectable family comedy show. I think the idea with the horses is a good one.
Just got really boring about halfway thought. Went 15 minutes without a laugh so I turned it off. He used to be funny.
David Cross has a fantasy that he wants to share. That fantasy makes me feel so good and it gives me hope. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the show is funny as hell. I was laughing a lot. But that golden nugget made my day.
It started off ok, thought the comedians had begun to learn something, get back to universal human understandings and the comedy that arises out of those observations, but then it takes a dark turn and you see just how dark the heart of the left has become, that they have become so self unaware that they don't even know to hide it. but this should have been obvious since Kathy Griffin held up that severed head, "its ok when I do it" said the moralist, 4 years later, nothings changed.
I've always been a fan of Cross, but this set is so uneven it's painful to watch. The second half devolves into one long incoherent hateful rant. Not what I'd call entertaining. Sad.
