This would have been mildly entertaining if it was not for the lead characters silly behaviour. Mainly the ridiculous way he speaks. I also feel that when a writer, who is also the director and the lead actor makes a movie - that it is bound to fail. I mean who does that? With nobody other than yourself to give input, that person would need to be perfection. Alas he is not and the movie fails. For 600k and for what he did achieve with it, is impressive, as a film it simply does not stand up, mainly because the leads character is just too annoying. I also see a lot of 9 and 10 star reviews. Let me tell you,.anyone who give this a score anywhere near that, has to be involved in the production or severely biased in some way.
Andy bowser did it again, he really is funny. I love watching his stuffs. To hell with all the modern day craps. This is a masterpiece. Worth every penny. At its core, "andy bowser is a love story that defies the boundaries of time and space. The film introduces us to the enigmatic characters of Lila (played with haunting grace by Emma Stone) and Oliver (captivatingly portrayed by Oscar-winner Michael B. Jordan). Their chemistry is palpable, igniting the screen with a magnetic force that draws the audience into their world. What sets this film apart is its ability to seamlessly blend genres. At times, it feels like a poetic exploration of love and loss, with the dialogue echoing like verses from a timeless ballad. In other moments, it transforms into a gripping mystery, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats, eager to unravel the secrets that lie beneath the surface of the narrative. The screenplay, penned by the brilliant duo of Maria Sanchez and Alejandro Ramirez, is a triumph of storytelling. The narrative unfolds like a carefully crafted tapestry, with each scene contributing to the larger, intricate design. The dialogue is poignant, filled with moments of introspection and philosophical musings that linger in the mind long after the credits roll. The pacing is impeccable, allowing the Rodriguez's direction is nothing short of masterful. Every frame is meticulously composed, with a keen attention to detail that enhances the overall visual experience. The cinematography, led by the talented Rodrigo Garcia, is a symphony of colors and shadows, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that envelops the viewer. The use of practical effects and minimal CGI adds a tactile quality to the film, grounding the fantastical elements in a tangible reality. Audience to savor every nuance of the characters' journey without.

To be honest, I really don't know what to make of this movie. It had a few laughs, lots of chuckles and a few cringes. The story line was actually pretty decent and it made a few flashback connecters so you know why some things happened as they did. Reminded me of a modern day Svenghoolie type of movie they show of Friday nights. The actors were reasonably good, they executed their roles well and there was a good bit of chemistry amongst them but with some more so that others. It sounds like this was just an average movie, and for the most part it was. However, if there was another Onyx the Fortuitous movie, I'd actually go see it. And this is coming from an old guy. Oddly compelling.
$600k dollars or so off kickstarter? I sincerely hope. Jeffrey Combs a) got the majority of that and b) enjoys it. This film is truly awful - yes, I get it's a 90s pastiche, my era too. The problem being "pastiche" it's just like the Bowser found a rejected script, dusted it off and thought being annoying over the top of it would count as injecting humour into it: *Bowser "bursts" into song, like one of those "fun" drama-school failures that NEEDS to be the centre of attention so no one else is allowed to enjoy their lunch. * actually spent the first hour wondering if it was actually supposed to be some kind of Chris Morris/Charlie Brooker meta-comedy about obese people being lazy. * Repeated hammering of the "virginal" status of Bowser, tired and inappropriate jokes about his genitalia - yeah, we "get it" obese people are unlovable. The actually funny thing here is you can see Bowser's desperation to be liked, it's almost like he realised that historically a lot of actual funny people have used eating to mask their pain inside and realising he's not funny, he's grabbed the one size fits all outfit and just grabbed the first "personality" he's seen. The only way to have improved this film would have been an Active Shooter on set. I've seen funnier AI scripts. Terrible - avoid.
So... this movie took me by complete surprise. I knew very little of Onyx the Fortuitous but some about KreatureKidd and his FX works. I expected this movie as something that may be fun but had the B-movie feel, boy was I wrong. This movie was fun as hell; had great dialogue, was well-paced, and so funny. The production value was through the roof and never lost my attention. 10/10. KreatureKidd went above and beyond in skill and as a lover of practical effects, thank you KKidd for keeping it alive and absolutely killing it. It was nice to get to know more about Onyx and see his awesome journey, had to subscribe to Andrew Bowser's channel!
