Ok this is a schlocky, preachy mess. It also feels like it goes on and on.....and then preachy again but w guns!! Some really bad acting then a line meant to be warm? " our city ..resisting tyranny and disarmament" ugh. Okay now the music, so hallmarkish and the vocal tunes ? Meh. So ya this was kind of a challenge to finish .
Movie is filled with gun debate and one main character that likes to mention God in every scene. Movie doesn't explain what happened to the mother or even the bf. The bad guy is bad but we don't really know what happened to make him bad. So many gaps. Considering it went for 2 hrs there shouldn't be any gaps. Also the movie is so long yet the characters are not really developed well. Child actor that plays Faith can not act and is shot but she survives with only antibiotics and then is strangely nice to the bad guy even embracing him. Wtf. Movie just sucked. Another Netflix bomb. Netflix should not make their own movies or shows.
As a conservative Christian, i get and understand what they were trying to do, and the message although at times borderline doctrinally incorrect, it has a good heart. The way it was carried out, seemed rushed, cheesy, and not well thought out. With awkward and distracting choreography, to the weird inconsistent cuts and continuity errors, this movie was not the best it could have been. Even the message of responsible gun ownership was last when the father fired rounds into the air, which is a wasteful, useless and dangerous thing to do. As well as an ankle holster, #lame. It was okay, but could have been better. If you enjoy and can get past extra cheesy features, this is for you.
Finally there is a movie that represents modern conservatism that is under attack by antifa and the liberal media. This movie effortlessly blends the clear connection between the 2nd Amendment (written by the CHRISTIAN founding fathers) and the teachings of Jesus. Kevin Sorbo seems to just churn out hit after hit, he was especially good in the logically consistent "God is not dead." Non-Christians and Anti-Gun crazies will probably not like this film. This film shows what will happen if we let God and Guns (GG) be eradicated from our nation and schools.
" Christian" and pro gun. Scenes/scenarios right of evangelical tracts. Hateful main female protagonist. They could have slipped some Christianity in there, god knows other movies have done that, and it might have been just a part of character development etc. . But coupled with the bald gun promotion, the stupid characters and implausible story line, this movie is fairly unwatchable. Also wanted to rip that stupid giant scarf off the main girls neck. Somehow it's the apocalypse and we still manage to keep highlights in our hair, accessorize, and wear lipstick.
... it would blow like nothing else before. This movie doesn't know if it's coming or going. Terribly written, badly acted, subpar cinematography and abysmal direction. The production value comes down to whatever they had access to, like an ugly suburban house and the woods behind it The political & tribal messages are hilariously cheesy, and it comes off as desperate. A child could have come up with a more coherent story, but I guess adult brains are scarce among the people who make and watch schlock like this. In the immortal words of Hercules: "DISAPPOINTED!"
Acting is awful, story starts off okay but is a train wreck at every turn. I was hoping all the characters died in the end because they were all awful.
Horrible acting. There are some places religion doesn't belong and this type of plot is exactly that. The Bible references are as ridiculous as the dramatic bad acting from the over emotional female lead who seems to have no clear vision of her current reality or any real reality for that matter outside of a bible verse, which isn't realistic in daily life much less an apocalyptic scenario as this. Taking out the Jesus factor and the whiny cliche immature female and you may have something. I'm most sad I'll never get these two hours of my life back-
Kevin Sorbo in movie for about 10 minutes... Eric Robert's for 30 seconds... and regretfully Brian Bosworth for the entire movie. Plot ridiculous and still trying to understand how an accidental shooting with kids helps promote our 2nd ammendment rights? Just gives liberals more ammunition against it (pun intended). I want my $11.50 back. Went to movie in Zanesville, Ohio. Only good thing was God's message of salvation.
I really like Kevin Sorbo including "God's Not Dead" and "Let there be light." However this last movie was a big miss. The writing was lazy and bad, the acting was bad and the plot included an unbelievable twist of unrelated events -coupled with cliche bible versus. This work did not live up to the Kevin Sorbo "standard" that I know. I like that Kevin takes on difficult issues -stands strong for our savior and against evil. More importantly I typically look forward to his movies. This last one, I am sad to say was just horrible. He is better than this. Something went terribly wrong with "The Reliant."
