Most of the storyline was good. But the scenes of the grandmother were too many and too long. I wish a lot of that junk hadn't even been in the movie at all! There should have been WAY more scenes of the budding romance and a lot more questions answered. Why was Ben's wife in a wheelchair and how did she die? Why was the crib in the room? Was she pregnant when she died? Rachel was supposed to be having extensive physical therapy while staying with Grandma. What happened to that? The last half of the movie went into hyper drive and was rushed, after the first part drug on too slow with all those "grandma talking to dead grandpa" scenes. The end left so many unanswered questions. How did Rachel and Ben get back together? It would have been so much better if the focus was off grandma, and the story went on with Ben refusing to leave Rachel's side after she took a sudden turn for the worse, even though she asked him to go. The last half of the movie could have been focused on Rachel's slow recovery with Ben right by her side. That would have been a much better ending to the story. The actors were excellent and it's a shame the storyline just fizzled out.
I don't understand all the hate for this movie. I read the other reviews and was shocked. If you don't like Christian films, don't watch them. We all know that Christian movies are not going to be like big budget Hollywood films. They're low budget, shot on a shoestring, basically a labor of love. Before All Others isn't as polished as other films and there were a few hiccups here and there. But that said, I really enjoyed it. The story was entertaining, the actors were good, especially the grandmother. So ignore the reviews, mine included and watch Before All Others and make up your own mind. :)
Another God does things to test us movie. FMD how can people in today's crap society still get inspiration out of this sort of garbage. Over acted, over portrayed as the goodness of a mythical being. I wanted to burn a bible after watching this dribble. Avoid this crap unless of course you are in the bible belt and brain washed
Wow! If you're thinking of watching this film, trust me, don't! Definitely not what I'd consider a Christian movie. Storyline, acting, and directing definitely missed the mark!
This movie had the potential of being much better than it turned out to be. For an independent film, the quality and acting were well done, but the story fell short. It felt like every was accelerated in the storyline and the ending was confusing. What happened? Was something edited for time and so they decided to just cut everything out? Overall, it wasn't a waste of time, but it left me feeling confused and unsatisfied.
I thought when I read the first review, written by an atheist, I ought to read a few more, since I am a Bible believing Christian. But then found the review from a Christian, who also gave it 1 star. I don't know what represents Christianity worse, the way Christians are portrayed in most TV and films, or Cheesy cheap "Christian films". I totally depend on IMBD user reviews to help me decide what to watch and avoid wasting my time. Thanks, Community!
