This is serious subject and needs to be told in serious manner. Subject of the movie is good but execution was very poor. Vaani acted very well where aayushmaan plays himself. A One time watch.
When you are making a movie on such a sensitive issue, you have to go all in. Unfortunately CKA fails to do that, it only revolves around the topic but does not go to the core of it. Another issue with this movie was the lead actress. Vaani plays a trans woman and she fails miserably. The character needed a very strong acting base and Vaani Kapoor falters in those few powerful scenes.
Finally saw this on Netflix. The movie has a very strong social message and at the same time it is engrossing in an entertaining way. It has romance, comedy n sports. It is more difficult to change human behavior than to influence opinions or attitudes and this movie will definitely influence attitudes towards the transgender/transsexual fellas. Ayushman Khurana gave a believable performance of that a gym instructor (myself being an instructor) but his statement about pimples on chest due to protein shakes or proteins via meat n eggs is totally unscientific. People do get pimples due to testosterone shots aka steroids but not cos of proteins.
This movie total garage. Don't waste your time watching woke trash. It's not even realistic. Trans gender are mentally sick. Stop showing its ok. Wasted my precious time watching trash. Do yourself a fever and skip this one.
This movie needs to be in global headlines; certainly something I will be able to recommend with immense pride to portray how much capable Hindi cinema is of creating quality content.. Ayushmaan continues to shine; Vaani has so much potential, this movie provides her the platform.. Storyline may be a bit ahead of time for a certain audience group in india..
Hatts of to the director ABHISHEK KAPOOR who directs this film and making the people aware of this subject which is must important to know. I didn't like vaani kapoor much but after seeing this movie I just wanna say one thing FANTASTIC performance by her and after this film she'll be on fire. Not everyone does and not everyone has the guts to this kind of roles but she did it and it was superb. Ayushman Khurana always rocks with his performance and powerful subjects. Story, screenplay music all are perfectly matched to the concept of the film. If you wanna see something different with powerful social topic go for it....
Finally a Hindi movie i can really enjoy watching in cinema after pandemic reopening. Light-hearted and heartwarming drama about transgender romance. Director Abhishek Kapoor in his simplistic three-act structure, managed to purify such sensitive content into basic understanding of love itself. Despite some unnecessary travesty moments of supporting characters, both leading stars Ayushmann & Vaani truly gave solid performances to stated that 'Normal is just a perspective'. While it was kinda expected from the great actor, the upcoming actress unexpectedly kept her emotions well when needed.
The worse thing in this film is a dialogue from.a Doctor telling Aayushman that God made a mistake by making that girl a boy but girl rectified gods mistake by changing her sex to a girl. What the hell is happening in this world a complete time waste movie.
This is what happens when an actor doesn't want to move out of his comfort zone. The performances of all cast are good the problem with the film is how predictable it was i knew the whole story in five minutes. Overall very predictable and dull film, if you watched the trailer nothing new is in the film.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui review : Missed this one in theatres last month and finally caught it today on Netflix. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui turned out to be a good timepass fare with both Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor at their best. Director Abhishek Kapoor seems to have regained his mojo post the damp squib Kedarnath (2018). Ayushmann is the typical Chandigarh ka gabru gym instructor who falls for his tenant and Zumba class trainer Vaani. Physical intimacy follows and Ayushmann formally proposes marriage...but hey, theres a hitch and glitch!! Vaani is a trans-woman who turned female after a surgery. "Trans lady yaani kya? A girl who likes Trans music" goes the joke but the desi laundaa Ayushmann gets wild when he actually understands the truth!! Both Ayushmann and Vaani are called Manu which leads to another punchline "Matlab Manu ne Manu ki hi le li...". Teehee!! Khurrana has worked hard on his physique as well as the Haryanvi lingo and is reliably good. It is truly brave of Vaani to take on such a challenging role and emerge the show stealer. Indeed, this is one of the finest performances of her career. She not only looks hot but also delivers a knockout act. I already published my best films of 2021. Need to add Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui to that list. Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.
