This is probably the best Reel One Entertainment TV movie, and one of the best light hearted romantic comedies/parodies TV movies and I watched hundreds of them. It nails well so many things that I couldn't believe. Let start with the technical issues because after all it's ROE TV movie and they are notorious for that. There were almost none - no bad makeups, no bad lighting, no obnoxiously loud background music when cast is talking, no bad cuts, no excessive stock footage, no fake location - it was actually shot in LA where plot takes place and not in Kelowna, Canada pretending to be a random US West Coast city. The only issue I encountered was when I was watching movie with my headphones as there was annoying hissing every time somebody said a word with letter S or SH. I listened later on bookshelf speakers, and it was much less pronounced. Really weird issue, and maybe my local streaming and distribution company screwed someting. Don't know. Cast was good. I'll just say that I wish movie was maybe 5 min more longer so we could see more of the supporting cast because they weren't in the movie just for some stupid check list. They really blended well. The hidden but the real star of the movie for me was Hannah Marie Hines not because she played Kacey's best friend and coworker but because this movie was her first screenplay. I don't want to spoil anything, but she did fantastic job. Until 2/3 of the movie it's the really good blend of comedy and parody of the social network culture, romance was blended well, and transition to drama part was also natural even it was telegraphed what was going to happen. Also, the storyline is copied from the ROE site but it's wrong as it really doesn't catch an essence of this masterpiece. The main lead, Casey, actually doesn't have social network accounts, and hates internet dating. This is really rare for an urban gal even in my 3rd world country. Ryan is not Don Juan of dating apps, he is a influencer. Basically, Casey works for Vanity Fair, I mean Bel Fair, and Ryan is TikTok, I mean TokFlix celebrity. And obligatory, don't watch trailer if you plan to watch the movie as like every other ROE trailer it shows everything!
