source: Teen Titans Go! See Space Jam
Teen Titans go see Space Jam is got to be the most wasted potential movies in 2021. It's just the Titans watching the original Space Jam which the titans are very annoying in this movie and I hate they remove some of the soundtracks and some of the scenes in the original Space Jam. Which state took the original Space Jam it makes the Titans talk over it with which makes this movie painfully uncomfortable to watch and the Nerdlucks I have no reason to be in this movie they are th barely talk and in it. I don't know the whole plot about the Nerdlucks comes to Earth to meet the Titans which cyborg knows them because they're from the movie Space Jam but the other Titans don't know anything about them and they never Space Jam so they decide to watch Space Jam together with the nerdlucks and Robin doesn't trust the nerdlucks at all, so that's the entire movie it's just the Titans watching the original Space Jam and the Titans talk over it and pause the movie, but sometimes they won't pause the movie they will just let the movie keep on going with it. Now let's talk about the characters in the movie. Robin always not trusting the nerdlucks. Raven keep asking stupid questions. Starfire has awkward one lines. The Beast Boy parts were far worse he has a butt counter which is just so stupid. And the cyborg parts, you know I'm not going to lie. The cyborg parts were pretty interesting. Because he has fun facts you guys going say why? Because he explains alots of fun facts in the movie that everyone don't know about, so yeah cyborg was okay in the movie but he doesn't save this movie whatsoever. Overall this movie was horrible boring painful to watch uncomfortable and wasted potential and if you have people didn't watch it don't watch it it's a waste of time. Just go Watch the original space jam instead of this cash-grab of a movie. 1/10.
So we let our son choose a Dvd to watch at home and he chose this. We've seen Teen Titans before and the 'Go to the Movies' movie is great fun. We assumed more of the same. However to charge 6 quid for this rubbish is bordering on unethical. It is literally Space Jam the movie (which we already own) with the Teen Titans popping up to comment occasionally. There is almost nothing new here and the title and packaging is very misleading. Warner Bros have a terrible habit currently of mixing franchises together to sell something 'new' in lieu of actually having a script. Space Jam 2 was like this and so was Scoob! If I could demand my money back I would. Total garbage- at least if someone reads this review and doesn't buy it some good would have come from our experience!
Clearly an attempt to bring a new generation into the Space Jam world, but they cheaped out. There was a way to do this, and have it be fun and clever, like Mystery Science Theatre 3000. But clearly there wasn't the time or inclination to do it. You will likely end up being either Frustrated by the lack of Teen Titans and new story, or be frustrated by the flow of Space Jam being interrupted.
While the format of characters watching and commenting on another movie can obviously work, it fails here. Ultimately it suffers from not having enough "Teen Titans Go!", while simultaneously not having enough "Space Jam". The movie is transparently an attempt to bring attention to the reboot "Space Jam: A New Legacy", even though it is never explicitly mentioned. There's nothing wrong with that if the result is good, but this is not. Early on in the movie (as part of the original "Space Jam") there is a scene where the baseball-playing Michael Jordan strikes out, yet is cheered and applauded by the crowd and other players. Even though he stinks at what he's doing now, everyone comes out to see him because he was great at what he did previously. That's this movie. "Space Jam" is MJ's basketball career, "Space Jam: A New Legacy" is his baseball career, "Teen Titans Go! See Space Jam" is WB hoping fans will go see the new (and ignore all its flaws) because they loved the old, and it's kind of sad. There are a few good jokes, but they are few and far between. There are some lame jokes, but they are also few and far between. There just aren't enough jokes, period. Apparently they don't want to get in the way of the original "Space Jam" by having commentary all over it, but when minutes go by without any Teen Titans popping up, you wonder why they're there in the first place. Things like the butt-shot counter are OK, it fits the group, but when that's the ONLY joke, it wears thin quickly. A large portion of the commentary also centers on shaming the lead villain's smoking (but not the "doping" scene), and covering up the Tune's use of guns (only lead-spitters though, ray-guns (and ACME explosives) are still perfectly fine). Not enough "Teen Titans Go!". As for "Space Jam", it gets butchered. Almost all the scenes with NBA players are cut. We see Barkley and Ewing get their talent stolen, and that's it. The other three players are never seen, nor the other teams protests against the "infection", the attempts to cure the five players, or Barkley getting schooled on the playground. Other scenes are trimmed as well. Worse, all the licensed music has been stripped out. During MJ's warm up, he no longer "flies like an eagle", he does slow-motion dunks to electronic elevator music. The player introductions at the start of the big game are similarly missing their signature hype music. Near the end, they end the watch party before MJ's return to the NBA, missing an easy setup for at least a couple more jokes about his on-again-off-again basketball career. Not enough "Space Jam". (Interestingly, the cut actors, cut music, and stills from the cut scenes are all still included in the end credits, which are tacked on from the original "Space Jam".) If you're a "Teen Titans Go!" fan who's never seen "Space Jam", this might hold your interest, but you'd be much better off enjoying them separately.
I wanted watch Teen Titans go but this movie's 1 hour 14 min is just from Space Jam. I like Space Jam but if I wanted to watch Space Jam then I can watch it. I recommend everyone do not watch it, this is just a waste of time. Instead of this u can watch real Space jam.
Fantastic, showstopping, spectacular, amazing, genius, incomparable, making movie history here, peak comedy, the best thing i've ever seen. If you liked space jam, you'll hate this!!!
Enjoyed with my son who loves the Teen Titans. They added some extra comedy interjecting relatable commentary on already ridiculous moments of the 90s film. Basically a teen titan riff of it.
