Actually probably more shaken - there is no such thing as a stir-down is there? So no pun intended. With a movie that is quite out there .. with crazy humor that does not seem to take any prisoners and does not care about innuendos or violence and other things. You do have to like the humor this puts out there ... if not it is probably best to stop watching. So early on, you should get a taste if this is to your liking or not. I was on the edge to be honest ... but overall it did win me over. Especially because it did stay consistent to what it set out to do. So even if I didn't agree with everything and this has some real cringe moments ... it did its job as described ... so let myself be ... shook down!
"The Shakedown" is a wild ride of screwball crime comedy that keeps you on the edge of your seat with its unpredictable twists and turns. Ari Kruger masterfully blends chaos and dark humor, delivering a film that's both absurdly entertaining and surprisingly clever. Carl Beukes shines as the morally ambiguous Justin, and the plot's relentless pace ensures there's never a dull moment. Despite its flawed characters, this movie is a must-see for anyone who loves a good, offbeat caper. Don't miss it! The supporting cast adds layers of complexity and humor, especially with Emmanuel Castis as the unreliable brother and Milton Schorr as the indestructible henchman. "The Shakedown" pulls you in with its unpredictable narrative and keeps you laughing while questioning just how far things will spiral out of control. It's a bold, off-kilter comedy that deserves more attention-definitely worth watching.
The Shakedown' Becomes SA's First-Ever Amazon-Produced Film we read the article and decided to watch it and I can confirm this movie was hilarious and really well made and exceeded our expectations. We chuckled all the way through at the dark humor and laugh out loud moments. It was really well cast including Jack Parow and Julia Anastasopoulos who played great characters. The movie embodied South African humor through and through with many nuances for a local audience. The story line was good and fast paced, the sets and scenery were also great. Highly recommended for an adult audience streaming on Amazon.

Firstly well done on being the first fully South African movie on Prime!! Lekker. We enioyed it from start to finish! The characters, acting and story were great and seeing Cape Town shot so well, as well as some familiar faces was brilliant!! Jack Parow was hilarious! And all the leads were great. Its a fun story and really captures our culture on the funny side and knowing we aren't takijg ourselves too seriously, well at the same time making a smart, funny movie for all to enjoy! I look forward to the next one and wish all involved more success to follow. Lets hope its the start of many more SA hits!!! Pielle X.
