source: A Carousel Christmas
Dolores Drake and Paul Campbell are the pillars of this romantic new page of Hallmark Christmas stories. A decent dillema, the quite stranger with not easy past , a painting and the carousel. And that is all and enough for give seductive atmosphere and a fair story about sentimental options and Martha's Vineyard and a wise aunt and a good- good guy and his inn .
This one is mostly a stinker of a film. The leads have very little chemistry. Kathy Lee Gifford in a bit part. A script heavy on schmaltz and anvils aplenty about religion. This all adds up to a film that tries too hard. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Silver lining the storyline about the carousel!
I'm not sure who directed this (it isn't listed here), but I hope they learned something about treating their audience with more respect. Someone should have smacked them when they suggested putting in the terrible musical sound effect for every "Godwink" and told them that treating their audience like they are too dumb to see the incredibly obvious coincidences that telegraph the story isn't the best way to have their movie appreciated. If you can get past being treated that way, the movie isn't too bad.
So wonderful to see a TRUE movie of how Love can happen anytime anywhere. Especially encouraging to see a movie that mentions faith in God
This is a film that based on the thought process of the "Godwinks Books". This film however is no different then most Hallmark movies. As a Christian I found this movie however as a money grab. Trying to sell more books than to tell a real story about people gaining or having their validated. This was is a trap to avoid!
I'm not sure why others felt so unhappy with the film, but it had all of the elements I typically look for in a Hallmark holiday movie.
If you are 4 you will hate this. If your alive you will hate this. If you hate Christmas movies then this movie proves how awful they can be
Bad and not original. All these scenes have been stolen from good films. If you want to waist your time may I suggest this film along should be a double feature with the film "Christmas Grace"
