This movie has missed the opportunity to be blockbuster because it lacks the story. Even no characters are there with you can make attachment everyone is just liking doing there role without any emotional build up. You don't know the reason why the villian is doing so they have no story of past of present it comes and go just like tv ads. Some scenes are brutal which can help the movie if it linked with an emotion and story. Only one thing is good about this movie is acting of Nayantara ana Jayam ravi. Bgm is worst👎. Some engaging scene are available. Just watch movie for one time. Never watch it with high exception like Ratsasan and Imaikka Nodingal.
This movie appeared on my Netflix yesterday and I thought to give it a watch. I absolutely loved it! Good Thriller, pretty unpredictable. In the first 20 minutes of the movie the serial killer is arrested, so I thought what now? Later on he was killed, again I though what now? But the twists are amazing. The way the people are killed, who killed them all, where is the killer after he killed kidnapped some of the girls, etc. They could have cut short the love story part as that was a bit of a waste of time. But other than that it is well worth a watch. People are free to have an opinion of a movie, but some are giving it 1 star is inexplicable.
There's not one character in this movie that shows the slightest competence. It's like a movie made to glorify incompetence and the audience are supposed to appreciate it. It had bits of silence of the lambs with a a psychopathic killer and also has bits of other Hollywood movies where young girls are kidnapped and tortured then killed. Yet every single person including the cops, the killer, the family shows unbelievable level of incompetence at every step. They catch the killer and better him sit casually in a medical examination without any restraints leading to him escaping. A murder suspect is allowed to travel in a car with a civilian with cops politely following them in another car which eventually leads the killer to escape again. I mean the level of incompetence in this movie is hillarious and unbelievable. Was the director trying to show that there are other more incompetent people in this world other than him? Another low grade movie by Netflix.
Never expected Ahmed would go on blindfolded with such a baseless script & poor screenplay... While we expected a typical cat and mouse game of a "I SAW THE DEVIL" type after watching trailer, literally the antagonist gets caugjt within 30 mins or so... Also the captain fails to extract the best of from nayanthara her screen presence are cringy to passout... Without a proper characterization & proper dialogue jayam ravi has lost himself in translation...Also Rahul bose & Vinod kishan appears to be mute puppets whole falls short in the hands of director and the psychopath doesnt have valid flash back to justify his beast mode... Overall a skip out is recommended to save ur time.
This movie was very disappointing from the start and even Jayam Ravi couldn't save the sinking ship. This will go down as one of his worst movies. From color grading to storyline, the basic quality was lacking. There is no thrilling element in the movie and I expected some twist in between the film but that was even worse. The director could have at least finished the movie earlier to avoid disappointing the audience. The movie dragged on, and I couldn't help but laugh when it finally reached the climax. I'm very sure people who watched this in the theater must have left very early because they couldn't have handled this below-average movie. Thank god at least we have the option to fast-forward a movie when it comes to an OTT platform.
"Iraivan," directed by I Ahmed, explores the idea that humans can be very dangerous. It's a film about serial killers, a topic that many people find fascinating. However, the film sometimes feels like it's trying to follow a trend rather than offering a unique perspective on the subject. There are many intriguing aspects to explore about storytelling in this genre, but the movie falls short in this regard. The story revolves around two men, Bramma and Arjun. Bramma is a psychopath who believes killing humans is like killing mosquitoes, while Arjun is a fearless cop who delivers justice to criminals. The narrative focuses on someone who admires these men in disturbing ways. Unfortunately, the film doesn't do justice to these interesting ideas. It feels like the director didn't venture beyond the initial concept. The only memorable scene is when a grieving father decides to join his deceased daughter after seeing a horrifying video of her murder. Jayam Ravi's tired portrayal of Arjun is a departure from his usual sharp roles. The film emphasizes style with flashy visuals, but it lacks emotional depth. It relies too heavily on shock and gore. Female characters are poorly written and often reduced to victim roles, lacking depth and complexity. Priya, Arjun's love interest, comes across as insensitive, and her character seems forced. The movie's lack of emotional consistency extends to the investigation. The senior cop often seems clueless about his team's discoveries, needing last-minute exposition to catch up. He scolds his officers only to backtrack when they reveal crucial findings. The climax follows a tired formula, with the cops arriving too late for the action. In a ludicrous flashback, Bramma's bizarre "mosquitoes equal humans" idea transfers to Babu after a single conversation. Many moments blur the line between genuine psychopathy and absurd parody. Babu, an eccentric character, is portrayed effectively by Vinoth Kishan, but the script offers little depth beyond an intriguing concept. Even a suspenseful moment hints that Arjun is right about Babu, removing any chance for surprise. It's clear the hero can never be wrong, maintaining a basic level throughout most of the film. The most complexity arises from Babu's need for validation from his self-declared mentor, Bramma, and his desire to see fear in Arjun's eyes. The film misses an opportunity to delve deeper into Babu's ego. There's potential for a more serious exploration beneath the surface.
