source: Sheer Pandemic
It is April 2020 in Texas as the pandemic heats up. Times are uncertain and panic buying sets in. Punch (Kris Clinton) and Jack (Chason Laing) are out of work with no income. They visit Jack's Uncle Bernie who offers them a good paying job while he goes on vacation. Jack sells guns and pandemic items on the black market. These two honest characters take over and things don't go so well. It was a slightly amusing story as it made fun of all the nonsense surrounding COVID. Guide: No sex or nudity. Don't recall any swearing.
Not having heard of writer Chason Laing's 2022 comedy "Sheer Pandemic", I didn't really know what I was in for here, aside from it being a movie that was spawned because of the Covid-19 pandemic. And on that note, then I suppose that "Sheer Pandemic" might not actually just fall into everyone's liking. However, as it was a comedy that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to sit down and watch it, and see what directors Grant Davis and Chason Laing had to offer. And I am forced to say that I found "Sheer Pandemic" not to be a comedy that tickled me in the right places. Sure, the movie had some funny moments scattered throughout its course, but it wasn't a comedy that had me laughing, nor was it a movie with a storyline that appealed much to me. So it was somewhat of a drag to sit through "Sheer Pandemic", especially since it failed to make me laugh. There were some good jabs at the outrageous things that has taken place in the Covid-19 pandemic, and those I did enjoy watching. But as a whole, then "Sheer Pandemic" just didn't cut it for me. I will say, though, that the movie had a good cast ensemble. I wasn't familiar with the actors and actresses that were in the movie, but they put on good performances and carried the movie well enough. Just a shame that the storyline was lacking proper contents. Now, I am sure that there is audience out there for a movie such as "Sheer Pandemic", but also at the same time there is a chance that the movie will come off as tacky, if not downright distasteful, to other people in the audience. My rating of "Sheer Pandemic" lands on a three out ten stars.
It was actually a good storyline and provided a good laugh -well done to the producers. You might think it's bad at first but stick with it, it'll be worth it.
Punch and Jack's chemistry was great! I can see them doing more movies together. Well directed and easy to follow. Favorite Scene: LOVED the gorgeous Ferrari mechanic and his realness! Too funny. Favorite quote: Uncle Bernie are you scalping toilet paper on the Internet! This could be our Rona Pandemic movie CLASSIC! Needs more advertising to get it out now during this difficult time we are living in to give people a laugh for a couple hours.
We just got COVID 19 omicron variant and are quarantined so we were looking for a movie this is the one to watch everything in this movie is over the top but pretty accurate.
I went into this expecting some low budget, poorly written, film made by your local highschoolers, or akin to an Asylum film... but this was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. The writing is sharp, snarky, and funny. I can't believe how much I enjoyed this and how many times I laughed. These guys didn't have a massive budget, but they knew how to use it and turn it into something. Massive props to these creators, a solid 9/10.
While I was crafting the next great American Novel in my head someone got out there and actually made something great. It's a fun comedy, well shot and edited. Can't wait to see the sequel shot in Louisiana "Sheer Pandemic Down In The Delta."
Moves at a snail's pace. Not even remotely funny. I'm stumped at the 2 other reviews, thus far, that found this funny and enjoyable. I'm 36 minutes and I'm calling it quits. Don't waste your time.
