source: Cheer Camp Killer
No limits for the evil cheerleader Victoria Richards and her evil mom Beth, the villains, in trying to get rid of all competitors in the Cheer Camp contest - whose winner will gain a college scolarship - and particularly in the most powerful of them, Sophia: from lying to cheating, to attempted murder. Victoria seduces Greg, the medical student who works as a camp trainer in Cheer Camp. Following Victoria's instructions, he dopes one of the contendants, that in that way gets disqualified, and in the end he is expelled on a false charge of sexual assault, made up by Victoria & mom. We don't see him anymore in the film. The day before the final showcase Victoria hits Sophia with a stone, kidnaps her, and ties her to a tree on the edge of a ditch overhanging some rocky cliffs. Sophia hovers there all night, and in the morning, when she is found - evidently not in good shape -, her first thought is to take part in the final performance. She wins the scholarship, and in her speech of acceptance she accuses Victoria. The evil cheerleader tries to mess things up, again, but there come the police - which has camera footage of the kidnapping - and arrests Victoria. Highly recommended for those interested in how film plots should not be made, and with sufficient humour to endure the whole duration of this...thing. By the by: nobody really eats in this movie: all they do is pecking their food up and down with their forks... repeatedly.
I like films about cheerleaders but this one was dire. I fell asleep during it and had to watch the rest another night. The title of this doesn't make sense at all. No one dies in it so who is the killer? I'm wondering this. The story might've been better if it had been animated and not using cheesy actors. The villains are quite pathetic really.
It wasn't a bad movie, but the movie is called "cheer camp killer" and literally nobody was killed during the movie. So I'm unsure of why that's the title.
I expected a bit more violence with a name like Cheer Camp Killer. For a lower budget film, it wasn't bad but this wasn't a thriller. It's a mean girls drama. There's nothing remotely thriller or violent about the whole film. I thought the acting was good for the genre (which is not thriller). It just wasn't what I was expecting. There's not so much as a nose bleed in the entire film.
The black girl acting is good, rest of them especially the evil cheerleader needs to go for acting classes. Okay kind of movie you watch when you are bored.
The plot was garbage and the whole time I was wondering when the title was going to come into play. Let me just say that not until HALF an hour was there any resemblance of cheer and even then it was mediocre. The characters were so bland and the only time I was excited is when Sophia was being tied up and left in the forest. No one died and I was upset because I wanted there to be some horror aspect based on the title THEY chose. I have blue balls now.. smh
This was the usual LMN movie with bratty girls and their mothers, bratty girls finking on the newly arrived innocent, and causing trouble for the newly arrived innocent. I thought the ending was pretty good, especially when the girl speaks up to the crowd. Satisfying finish.
I'm a huge fan of LMN movies but this is not at all one of their better ones. The plot is very slow moving and really goes nowhere through the whole film. Sometimes LMN movies will give you some interesting twists and turns, but not here. The acting here was very amateurish. Even General Hospital / LMN regular Andrea Bogart can't make it work. The only bright spot was Jacqueline Scislowski who should have a future in other LMN movies and maybe a little beyond that. She'll do well if they can get her a decent script and competent cast. I have to agree with the other reviewer who noted that the moves the cheerleaders were doing were incredibly amateurish compared to real competitive cheerleading (which is a thing).
Mariah Robinson is an appealing actress and the rest of the cast is fine but they're not enough to save "Cheer Camp Killer". The material is just not there. The movie is actually pretty dull. The story doesn't really go anywhere. Unfortunately, I found "Cheer Camp Killer" pretty forgettable. Honorable mention: a dreamy Andrea Bogart.
