Probably the worst budget shark movie ever? Avoid!
If you had nothing better to do and could shop online while it was running. Otherwise, some of the special effects were actually pretty good, like the ship graphics. Which did not coincide with the actual set of the ship they did most of the filming on. I finally spotted the call sign on the bridge KECW and did a search while I was half watching this film. Turns out to be an old WWII cargo ship called SS Lane Victory at port in L. A. Not a modern warship to say the least but for a budget flick, it worked. I suppose most people didn't even notice. But the script was horrible. I mean, it's the difference between talking and reading. Not to mention some of the terms and word usage. "Wire the Admiral?" The Captain was always calling the Comms guy "Wilco," which is not a noun or title but means "will comply," a predecessor to "Roger That," of "Copy." And last but most, the acting sucked. Really, it did. I know the script was horrible but the acting was on par. The X. O. acted like he was on set for a thug movie. Anyway, it was one way to really kill a couple boring hours between half watching it, shopping online and writing this stupid review. Please, kill me now.
Awesome movie- definately worth Watching..Aye Aye Captain. PS: "The Asylum" intentionally makes this kind of movie.
This film has a cult following coming. The graphics were horrible but it gives such a laugh. Shout out to Adam He as First Mate Tan! Funniest person in the movie. We love you! Come to Brazil soon.
The movie waste's no time in letting you know that this is from "The Asylum". I should stop here as you have been provided with all the information you need. Recommended, nah.
This is the worst, cheesy and lowest budget movie I've seen in my life!! Bad acting, worse script. How many actors did they use in the entire film, counting the crew of two larger ships? Maybe 12. I liked the first "Megalodon", al least Jason Statham is a real actor and the plot make sense. "Megalodon Rising" has no pay actors, maybe acting students making their first appearence in a movie... And what happened with Tom Sizemore? He looks fat, sweated and you note that the make up assistant forgot him. The worst movie in many years.
Why is this movie playing in an art-house venue, or any other theater, I thought. Joined several other curious strangers to find out. A local broadcast tv station had been having marathons of shark fantasy movies and some of them were fun. This should be better, yes? Anyway, no one gets caught up in a story like this for long. Too many things take you out. The lady playing the Chinese technician (survivor of a tragic and low-budget naval disaster) does a nice poker-face while acting displays itself furiously around her. This character is being held on a U. S. Naval vessel so that makes way more sense than most of what happens. Loads of exposition, and it looks like this is a sequel to some movie I've never heard of, so I came late to the story. Real Naval personnel don't have such entertaining banter with officers, or stand around on the deck directing fire when "world war three" is imminent. Why would giant sharks attack ships, San Diego, or anything? Part of a Chinese plot! Okay. Wishing good fortune on all who set sail with this project. Don't think it will play well on tv at home. Show it in a theater packed with intoxicated people though, and you could have something!
I'm assuming the closest anyone involved in this travesty has been to an actual movie studio is the tram ride at Universal Studios. It's simply impossible that every aspect of film production could be such an epic fail. It must be intentional. Home movies of five year olds performing the Nutcracker have higher production values and more talented acting. Ten stars for making the definitive Asylum film, which is one star for professionally made films.
Worse movie ever seen,.. Just annoyed listening 'Yes Mam' from all over.. $10 acting crew and cast..What a concept and VFX. Most funny thing the guy just sitting in the table and using PS4 joystick to fight with shark🤣🤣🤣
