An English village endures the filming of a Zombie film on its doorstep. As if that were not enough, locals are found dead, their bodies torn apart. This is a low budget horror comedy, and glories in it. Silly, funny, with some good performances and some reasonable jokes - some work better than others, which is fair enough - and it actually makes sense. Director and writer Pablo Raybould isn't interested in anything too sophisticated, preferring rather to dish out a few giggles during the 83 minute run-time. My score is 6 out of 10.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film for what it was: a low budget horror/comedy. They leaned into the silliness of it while still taking it very seriously. If you're looking for great SFX you may want to look elsewhere, but the dry humor, good performances, and self-aware script made this film funny and a pleasure to watch during my morning coffee. Well done!
Come on... British humor is suppose to be funny and clever, but sometimes there are duds! Im an American and there are bad America movies as well, and this was no shaun of the dead or even that movie they go visit all the pups in a night, but this humor was childish and straight corney! It was like really, you think we all are 9 years old and were just going to laugh, and add a little scary to this movie if you want to call it a horror comedy! The poster looks so scary, thats why I wanted to watch it! Even the brits know im right!
Watched this movie because of it being the "modern Shaun of the dead" and wow was I wrong. It being a low budget movie is no excuse for how diabolical this movie is. It's not funny, not engaging, it's not clever it's not even self aware. Id rather be pushed off a cliff and break every bone in my body than ever watch another minute of this detritus. I actually felt my intelligence was insulted by this film. You'd get more entertainment out of a snuff movie than this rubbish. I rated it a 1/10 because you can't rate any lower but if I could it would be a 0. There's only one good thing about it, which is, if you were ever to torture someone, you have the perfect torture material. I wrote this review so you can save yourself the displeasure of watching this trash.
I see where the negative reviews are coming from - but this movie had me laughing all the way, yes there were one or two scenes that should have been redone, and a couple of jokes that fell flat, but for a comedy horror, it was excellent. Very funny! The two policemen should have a show to themselves!
Genuinely awful from start to finish. Badly written, with the most stale jokes possible, badly directed, with interminable scenes that go nowhere, badly acted, with more scenery chewing than a bad amateur dramatics society production. That is, if there were any scenery. The only upside was that it was relatively short. You would have to be brain dead to like this film.
I wish this film had just a little more money for the Werewolf effects ......it suffers a lot when seen. But that's the only real criticism...... it's not about Oscar winning FX it's about fun. Cheap British horror comedy with a great script and cast (familiar faces from UK soaps). The banter between the three extras from the pub (The Severed Arms) was really funny and I found myself laughing out loud. A pleasant surprise.
I read a bunch of fake reviews on this movie so I tried it. A fart song would have been more enjoyable. 2 stars just to be nice.
This is a simple werewolf comedy horror. The camera work and special effects are all low budget. The main plot of the production is a zombie film is being made. A local man looks like the star of the film (Laurence Saunders). He is asked to sub. What made the film fun was the idiotic "Who's on first?" type of dialogue. "Which is?" "Not witches. Werewolves." In addition to our star being an idiot, we have a bumbling police department with an ongoing joke about their lab. I had a few laughs. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
