I enjoyed this movie so much. I watched the entire movie without any fast forwarding. The two main/lead characters were both likeable. The actors did a great job. This is a different kind of holiday movie in that I liked both leads from the beginning. I felt the positive connection between them. You can actually see them falling in love and the movie allows you to take the journey with them. There was no bickering or constant personality conflicts that make you fast forward through most of these holiday movies. That kind of portrayal has been overdone. This movie really lets the holiday spirit shine through. I rooted for the family. I rooted for this couple. Their love and the fact that they ended up together was believable. I cared about the characters in this movie. I will watch it again. Nice job with this script.
I did not have any expectations for this movie when I stumbled upon it while channel surfing. I noticed it had just started and I had missed about 5 minutes. So I paused for 5 minutes or so to check it out. I found the characters and the story so compelling, I ended up watching the entire movie. To be honest, the plot didn't seem plausible. It's about a maple syrup farm and farmer - so I totally expected it to be boring. I was wrong! The characters, the dialogue, and the locations worked well together. I learned about making syrup.😊 This was a good movie that lived up to its name. It was sappy but in a good way. I'm happy that I stumbled upon it. I would watch it again. I thought it was refreshing.
A YouTube reviewer recommended this movie Sappy Holiday and I am so glad they did! All but one of the actors was new to me, but I loved them all. The Main Actor playing James was in another favorite movie of mine from last Christmas called "The Great Christmas Switch", and he is good in both movies. This script was pretty familiar, but the cast was so good and lovable that you can overlook the fact that you have seen some of these elements before. The overbearing boyfriend, with the condescending family VS the sweet new wonderful guy and his down to earth welcoming family. It was a pleasure to spend time with these characters!!
This movie was amazing. There was nothing about the movie I didn't like. The characters, all of them, were believable. I loved Joy's relationship with all of them, especially with Dylan. She was able to get him to open up. That was an amazing feat unto itself. I have to admit that her and James' sister-in-law did end up behaving like sisters, which probably made both of them feel great. I never believed that she was going to fit in with her boyfriend's family. She was too down to earth for them. Gabe's mother was a nightmare and I can't believe that she was ever elected mayor in the first place. This movie was awesome and I am glad that I watched it.
I personally am a huge fan of holiday movies. I'm Jewish and don't celebrate Christmas but love a good sappy, cheesy holiday film. This one is one for the books. When I say I'm a fan of holiday movies I mean it. November 1st I'm on top of it, going through the Hallmark app and Netflix. My favorite app though is the Up, Faith and Family app which has so many wholesome and wonderful movies. There is always one that I decide is my favorite for the year and will proceed to buy it on Amazon Prime. Last year it was Christmas at Rosemomt and this year it's Sappy Holiday. It's hits all the right things and didn't make anything feel out of place. They also didn't add any of the woke stuff, which I'm so happy about. So if you are looking for a great Holiday love story with magic then look no further.
