Rudderless

... and breathtaking. I had a pleasure of watching this movie tonight, including a director, William H. Macy's Q and A. Writers and director did some great choices. Casting was perfect. Billy Crudup's performance is simply fantastic. Excellent music and lyrics. By far, the most emotional and moving film I saw this year. Daring and dangerous, casualties all across the board and so well done in all aspects. Yet another proof that independent movies like this one bring out more feelings and passion than any blockbuster. Everyone should see it! Thought-provoking gem!

I honestly really liked this movie, it was well casted and I do recommend it if you like music. It gives off a true story kind of vibe, which I liked. I couldn't help but notice in the reviews that people didn't like how Selena Gomez was casted in the film...which is absurd because we all know everyone is just mad because she really is a good actress. People really need to stop giving her a bad rep. Anyways, the storyline is really original and it had me surprised at times. The plot twist really caught me off guard. I believe this film did a great job with highlighting school shootings and helps in teaching and educating students about that unfortunate event.

If ever there was a movie to tug on your emotions without your permission, it's Rudderless. Billy Crudup is exceptionally real, driving straight at the heart of every parent with kids. You're given no choice but to fast-forward through pain to ride the wave of a parent trying to make sense of what happened, and how could things have been different. I walked away from this movie understanding why everyone felt the way they did, and felt completely satisfied with the ending. Everyone did their part in this movie, and they did it extremely well. It will test your emotions, and it may make you mad, but in the end, I think you will either love it, or hate it, but you will think about it all night.

William H Macy directing, Billy Crudup Anton Yelchin,Felicity Huffman?? Can't go wrong with any of them. It made me laugh cry,i was surprised angry AND absolutely in love with the originality of the story line and saw things from a different perspective. It wasn't just about 1 guy, one kid, one loss. It is really a great movie and I could and I have watched it once a month since I found this little gem last year. It truly is one of my favorite movies. If you get a chance to watch it, I highly recommend doing so. Loved it.

Rudderless is a refreshing sort of emotional roller-coaster. Thanks to smart writing, honest acting, and thoughtful pacing, I never felt manipulated into feeling a specific way. Billy Crudup's broken father isn't particularly likable, which makes it all the more impressive that you're on his side by the end. Anton Yelchin's excitable young musician and supporting roles—from band members to Laurence Fishburne's music store owner—form an ensemble that's easy to invest in and care about. The original music is infectious—I downloaded the soundtrack before the credits were over. This is one I'll watch more than once and listen to over and over.

Played few times in my cable TV but miss the opportunity to watch the full movie. The song is wonderful, very nice, like the old coldplay maybe. When I watch the whole movie, it's above all of my expectation. Not just as cliché as lost family member and find some escape. It's build the strong story better with fact that reveal at later part of the movie. I like Billy Crudup's performance, and same as the other band's member. The background of Anton Yelchin is a bit limited but still good to deliver the connection. A very emotional movie to the point that I want believe that this is a true story. William H. Macy did a very good job. Will wait for his directing any other movie.
